Dear Editor:

The Washington Republican Parish Executive Committee (RPEC) expresses its support for House Bill 151 and House Bill 453 currently being considered in the Louisiana House of Representatives.

HB 151 prohibits the adoption of sanctuary policies in the state as related to illegal aliens.

House Bill 453, as related to illegal aliens, prohibits governmental agencies from restricting the enforcement of immigration laws and establishes legal remedies.

The RPEC calls for our Washington Parish legislators: State Rep. Malinda Brumfield White; State Rep. Scott Simon; and State Sen. Beth Mizell to publicly express their support for these bills.

The RPEC encourages all voters to contact their legislators and express their support for these bills.
