Edward Jenkins went to spend eternal life with his Lord on April 22, 2016, at the age of 90. He spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ for 62 years as a Southern Baptist minister throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alonzo; mother, Josephine; wife, Oneita Stogner Jenkins; sisters, Ava Mizell and Elsie Stephenson; and brothers, Erval Jenkins and Ellis Jenkins.

Edward is survived by a brother, Cleatus “Red” Jenkins; three sons, and daughter-in-laws, Lonnie and Sandy Jenkins, Charles and Brenda Jenkins, and Carey and Sharon Jenkins. “Pawpaw” dearly loved his nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Palestine Baptist Church from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, April 25. The funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Brumfield will officiate the service.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Scott Jenkins, Brandon Jenkins, Josh Jenkins, Tanner Jenkins, and friends, Buddy Banks and Mike Stogner.
