Mrs. Eartha Lee Banks Carter, 82 of Bogalusa, and a former resident of New Orleans, departed this life on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 3 at Allen Temple Church of God in Christ at 19506 Torrence Dr. in Bogalusa at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Earl Williams, pastor, officiating.

Carter leaves to cherish in her memory, one son, Richard Carter of New Orleans; four daughters, Julia Carter of New Orleans, Eartha Carter Lightell of Bogalusa, Linda Carter Butler of New Orleans and Martha Carter of Mississippi; and one brother, Johnny D. Carter of Thibodaux.

She is preceded in death by, husband, Johnny Carter Sr.; son, Johnny Carter Jr.; sister, Willie Mae Hubbard; brothers, Eddie Carter Jr. and Noland Carter; and parents, Noland Lee Banks and Florence Carter.
