Lynne Toler

While living her life to the fullest and surrounded by family, Lynne Marie Cooley Toler was called home by our Lord on Sunday, March 13, 2016. She was an educator, a mentor, an avid reader, and a mother to all. Cooking was her passion as she won numerous awards, which include winning the Thanksgiving competition on The Regis and Kelly Show in 2003. Lynne’s greatest joy and accomplishments were her six children and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosemary E. Clark-Hughes; father, John L. Cooley Sr.; grandparents, Lish and Willie Clark (maternal), Boyd and Thelma Cooley (paternal); brothers, Justin Hughes Sr., George Johnson and Bryon Johnson; aunts, Yvonne Clark-Powell and Audrey L. Cooley; and a niece, Talisa Brigette Hughes.

She is survived by her father, Melvin Hughes; brothers, Alvin (Vanessa) Hughes Sr. and John L. Cooley Jr.; sisters, Cristina Cooley Bonner, Jill (James) Nickerson, Virgie Beverly and Cynthia (Ronney) Butler-McIntyre; nieces, nephews, and first cousins reared as siblings; her children, Roniqua Watkins, Alisha Toler, James Spikes, Kyra Spikes, Taryn Spikes (Charles) Smoot, and Jason Spikes; grandchildren, Martevius Watkins, Ondrej Bickham, Derrycka Bickham, Anterious Watkins, Gessyca Clark, Ella Bickham, Kayla Smoot, Aja Brown and Areyon Smoot; with an additional blessing expected in 2016.

Funeral services will be held at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, on Saturday, March 19, at 2 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Home of Lynne C. Toler in Richardsontown at 5 p.m. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa is in charge of arrangements.
