Rosie Lee Mingo Jenkins

Mrs. Rosie Lee Mingo Jenkins was called home at the age of 87 on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.

Mrs. Jenkins loved her work and she did not like “half stepping” — that was her saying she wanted things done right, and if not, leave it alone. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren and friends as “Mama Rosie.”

Mrs. Jenkins leaves to cherish her memories to: sons, Robert L. (Sharrion) Jenkins of Georgetown, Texas, and Donald L. (Evelyn) Jenkins of Cedar Creek, Texas; daughters, Kathy R. Magee of Austin, Texas, and Oneita L (Justin) Arnold of Bogalusa; granddaughters, Bernita Jefferson, Anita Adams, Tanisha Jenkins, Aisha Lathan, Telisha Jenkins and Martina Jenkins; grandsons, Charles Magee, Donald Jenkins Jr., Barry Magee, Patrick Magee and Corbin Jenkins; great granddaughters, Jacquelia Jefferson, Ariel Bolton, Teria Adams, Adaja Magee, Emerald Lathan, Adriana Magee, Amaya Jenkins, Za’Meria Miles, Rayne Sheridan, Cyera’ Lathan, Skye ‘Mingo, Beri Magee and Sa’Marjae Robinson; great grandsons, Sidney Jefferson, Ronald Lathan Jr., Jeremiah Magee and Brendan Magee; great-great-granddaughter, Shealei’ Jackson; great-great-grandson, Donald Magee; special grandson, Shaquille Berry (Black Beauty); sisters, Nettie Faye Bridges, Versie L. Robinson of New Orleans, and Eliza Mae Jefferson of Mary Ester, Fla.; a brother, Peter M. Bridges of St Paul, Minn.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and seven sisters.

The visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa.

The funeral will be at noon Thursday, March 17, at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Johnson Sr. will be officiating. Interment will be at the Bogalusa Cemetery.
