Mattie M. Honaker, 93, born in Bogalusa, on Dec. 16, 1922, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at her residence in Bogalusa.

She was a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Greg D. Honaker of Mandeville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Queenie McNeese; her husband, Douglas “Spot” Honaker; and a sister, Sidney M. Howell.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 10, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The funeral services were held at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Joe Porter officiating. Entombment followed at Sanctuary of Peace Mausoleum in Ponemah Cemetery.
