Mrs. Sidney Gayke Peters Bickham departed this life on Feb. 12, 2016, at 69 years of age. She left this earthly life and transitioned to her period of eternal rest at Oschner Hospital in Jefferson.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, David (Christine) Bickham and Javon Bickham of Angie; three daughters, Lucindy Bickham (Larry) Brown of Compton, Calif., and Paula Bickham and Gina Bickham of Angie; six sisters, Barbara Peters Lewis of Diamond Bar, Calif., Ernestine Peters (David) Thompson of Carson, Calif., Priscilla Peters (Tommie) Morgan and Gwendolyn Peters of Phoenix, Ariz., Patricia Peters of Los Angeles, Calif., and Charlene Brewer of New Brunswick, N.J.; six brothers, Donald, Ronald and Michael Peters of Los Angeles, Bernard Peters of Diamond Bar, and Andre (Precious) Johnson of Bogalusa; a special cousin who was like a sister, Sandra Peters Robinson of Angie; a special lady whom she treated like a daughter, Tasha Amith Robinson; two special nephews she raised, Toriano Harry of Los Angeles, and Travon Stokes of Phoenix; special friends, Bennie Spikes, Candasie Harry and Betty Jean Toney of Varnado, and Alice Faye Peters Alexander of Angie; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luby Bickham; father, Bobby James “B.J.” Peters; mother, Ruth Thelma Sam Peters; one brother, Vincent Peters; great-granddaughter, Miracle Bickham; and grandparents, Tommy Lee Peters, Jessie Ree Peters, Sidney Sam Sr. and Thelma Robinson Sam.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 26, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the chapel of Crain & Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Varnado, with the Rev. Linza R. Cotton, pastor, and the Rev. Archie McGowan officiating.
Interment in the Ford Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Miss.
