With the holiday season behind us and Mardi Gras being early this year, we can keep the parties going and the festive atmosphere of good times going, as we welcome in Mardi Gras season.

As we put our Christmas decorations away, we can pull out the Mardi Gras decorations and begin getting excited.

In Washington Parish, Mardi Gras season is definitely an exciting time, as the Magic City Carnival Association prepares to roll through the streets of Bogalusa for the 36th time.

It’s a day where Bogalusa residents and people from near and far head on over to enjoy the bands and the floats at MCCA while hoping to catch plenty of throws from the float members.

It’s also a day the float riders and those who participate in the parade and help the parade go smoothly look forward to as well.

This year, the parade is Feb. 6, the day before Super Bowl Sunday.
