We’re just a short time away from the state finals for football in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association and two Washington Parish teams are in the quarterfinals tonight.

Bogalusa and Franklinton are just one win each from reaching the state semifinals and two victories from playing in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the state championship.

In Class 3A last week, District 7-3A champion Bogalusa was victorious over then-undefeated Jena, 38-27.

The Lumberjacks are traveling to Amite to face the Warriors tonight. The winner plays either Northwest or St. James in the Class 3A state semifinals.

In Class 4A, District 8-4A champion Franklinton defeated Minden, 35-34.

The Demons are also on the road this week, as they play against Crowley.

Both teams have had great seasons.

We wish everybody going to the games safe travels. Good luck to the Lumberjacks and Demons as both teams go for a spot in the state semifinals tonight.
