Bowling Green has chance to clinch district

Tonight could be a very special night for Bowling Green’s football team, as the Buccaneers go into Silliman Institute with a chance to clinch the District 5AAA title.

Bowling Green has had quite a season and enters tonight with a 6-1 overall record and 3-0 record in district play.

It’s the team’s final district game.

Tonight, they play on the road against Silliman Institute in Clinton.

The team’s scrimmaged earlier this year and played last season.

Clinching a district title would mean a playoff berth and a home game in the playoffs for the Bucs.

The success for Bowling Green has been a team effort, as both the offense and defense have done a great job of scoring points and keeping the opposition off the board.

Bowling Green is averaging 31 points per game while giving up just 11.5 points.

Teams have scored just 81 points in seven contests against the Buccaneers.
