LHSAA teams start regular season tonight

It’s opening night for four football teams in Washington Parish tonight, as Bogalusa, Franklinton, Pine and Varnado kick off their regular seasons.
All four teams are coming off of playoff seasons. Franklinton went to the state semifinals while Pine and Varnado reached the regionals and Bogalusa made it to the first round.
The four teams are all beginning on the road. Franklinton is at Covington, Bogalusa is facing Southern Lab at Glen Oaks, Pine heads to Pearl River and Varnado heads to Biloxi, Miss., to take on St. Patrick.
Although this week is a travel week for fans of those teams, the good news is that next week, every football team plays in Washington Parish.
In fact, the only team that is playing a road game next Friday is Pine, and the Raiders are heading to Varnado.
Two teams in Washington Parish are continuing their seasons tonight in Bowling Green School and Ben’s Ford Christian School.
Both are at home. Bowling Green plays Adams County Christian School and Ben’s Ford is hosting Wilkinson County Christian Academy.
Bowling Green is attempting to stay undefeated, as the Buccaneers are off to a 2-0 start. B
Ben’s Ford is looking for its first win. Injuries have hurt the Eagles, who are 0-2 in the early going of this season.
We wish all of the fans traveling tonight to and from the games tonight safe travels and we wish all of the teams good luck as they either begin or continue their seasons.
