If you are a high school football fan, then Ben’s Ford Christian School is the place to be tonight, as the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools has its jamboree week with the regular season upon us next week.

Nine teams are competing at Ben’s Ford, and it’s a chance for fans to go out and support the high school players.

Each game features a pair of 12-minute quarters and a 6-minute halftime.

Except for punts and kickoffs, the gameplay will be run like a standard game.

Punts will not be rushed, and every punt return will be considered a fair catch or where the ball is blown dead.

There will also be no kickoffs. After a score, the next drive will begin at the 30-yard line.

The jamboree action begins at 4:30 p.m. with Wilkinson County Christian Academy facing New Orleans Home School.

A half hour later, Wilkinson County is back on the field to play Wayne Academy.

New Orleans Home School then goes against Wayne Academy at 5:30 p.m.

The 6 p.m. contest features Prentiss Christian School battling against Central Private.

The local teams, Bowling Green School and Ben’s Ford Christian School, are in the final two contests.

Bowling Green plays against CHEF at 7 p.m. before Ben’s Ford wraps up the night by playing against Salem at 8 p.m.

Next Friday, the season begins for Bowling Green School and Ben’s Ford Christian School. Bowling Green is at home hosting New Orleans Home School while Ben’s Ford Christian School takes to the road to play Pickens Academy.

Good luck to these two schools and the rest of the local football teams on the upcoming season.
