Ida Seal

Ida Rose Seal, age 78 and lifelong resident of Pine, passed away Monday evening, July 27, 2015, at Riverside Medical Center. She was a charter member of Pine First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang with the church choir. Ida Rose especially enjoyed working with small children.

She retired after a career at Tutter Rex of 36 years. She enjoyed sewing, doing crafts and spending time with family and friends, and she loved to laugh. Ida Rose was always a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Seal Schilling, Alice Seal DeVries and Wayne DeVries and Joann Seal Taylor and John A. Taylor; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Ann Seal, Lavelle “Bernie” and Nancy Seal, Tommy and Audrey Seal and Walton and Sanduel Seal; a sister-in-law, Sybil Seal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice Seal and Maxine Moore Seal; an infant brother; brother and sister-in-law, Colin and Ivy Seal; brother, Johnny Seal; and brother-in-law, Dwight Schilling.

Visitation was at Pine First Baptist Church on Thursday, July 30, 2015, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. The Rev. David Easterling and the Rev. John Lowery officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Walton Seal, Wayne DeVries, Danny Henley, Darin Seal, Mac Langdon, Andrew Taylor, Wayne Henderson and Wes Stewart.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to the Pine First Baptist Church Building Fund, 27043 Louisiana Highway 62, Franklinton, LA 70438.
