Beginning with the April 3 edition, home delivered subscribers to The Daily News will begin receiving their newspapers through the U.S. Postal service. The change in delivery will also include transitioning the Daily News’ Sunday edition to a weekend edition, delivered to subscriber’s homes Saturday.

“This switch will allow the staff at The Daily News to focus more on the newspaper’s mission of keeping the public informed while elevating the level of service to our subscribers,” said Daily News Editor and General Manager David Vitrano. “Our weekend edition, delivered on Saturday, will continue to include the same level of content and advertising as our current Sunday edition. Subscribers will simply have it delivered with their mail Saturday.”

In a change from current mail subscriptions, Washington Parish subscribers will receive their newspapers the same day as publication.. The Daily News is also standardizing subscription rates in Washington Parish, so readers can enjoy The Daily News’ award-winning news coverage and the security of postal delivery at the same low price of $9 for one month, $24 for three months, $42 dollars for six months or $72 for one year. Out-of-parish mail delivery prices will remain at their current levels.

“The staff at The Daily News is committed to continue offering residents of Washington Parish the best local newspaper possible,” Vitrano said. “We feel transitioning to postal delivery will help us maintain continuity of delivery and deliver the best newspaper possible in a timely manner.”
