Walter C. Williams Jr.

Walter Cecil “Dub” Williams Jr., born in Bogalusa on Nov. 16, 1927, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 27, 2014.

After graduating from Bogalusa High School, he served in the Navy for two years, then attended New Mexico State University, after which he taught and coached in the Ruidoso Public School System for 29 years. He also served as state representative in his district for 14 years.

Dub is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathryn Hale Williams; his two sons, Neale Henry Williams (Karen) and Borde Hale Williams (Lisa) of Glenco, N.M.; his two brothers, Charles Sherwin “Red” Williams of Bogalusa and Ernest Ray Williams (Ann Evans) of McAllen, Texas; four grandchildren, Shirryn Williams Padilla (Brian), Rachael Williams, Haley Williams Morin (Marcus) and Ryan Williams; and four great-grandchildren, Noah, Madasyn, Colby and Canon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Cecil Sr. and Dorothy Borde Williams; and a sister-in-law, Frances Moody Williams of Bogalusa.
