V. L. Thomas, age 75, died on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at his home. He was a resident of Bogalusa. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and retired from the store business.

He is survived by one son, Shane (Jane) Thomas of Bogalusa; three daughters, Chantelle Thomas, Dena (Eddie) Talley and Tara Thomas, all of Bogalusa; his mother, Oneida Stringer Thomas of Bogalusa; two brothers, Travis (Denise) Thomas of Bogalusa and Jerry (Nancy) Thomas of Sandy Hook, Miss.; two sisters, Janell (Charles) Lumpkin of McNeil, Miss., and Brenda McNutt of Many, La.; six grandchildren, Mikelle, Chance, and Tristen Thomas, Theresa Morris, Deanna Knight and Bailey Busby; and two great-grandchildren.

His father, Virgil Lee Thomas, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, from 6 to 10 p.m.

Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. The funeral services will be at 10 a.m., with Elder Clyde Cooper, Elder Doyle Ball and Elder Mark Hobgood officiating. Interment is to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
