Cecil Leron “Blue” Lewis, age 61, of 1900 Riverside Drive in Bogalusa, departed this life on Monday, Sept. 9, 2014, at his residence.

He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Denise Stringer of Houston; six sisters, the Rev. Dr. Jennie Rose (Harvey) Curry of New Orleans, Vivian Alexander of Milwaukee, Linda Ann Washington, Gloria (John) Near, Ethel Mae Morris and Darlene Lewis, all of Bogalusa; two brothers, Robert Lewis and Jeffery Lewis of Bogalusa; a special niece, Fannie (Robert) Magee of Bogalusa; a sister-in-law, Carrie Lewis of Bogalusa; two stepsisters, Georgia Weary of Angie and Juanita Warren of Bogalusa; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Volian Davis Lewis and Charles Lewis; two sisters, the Rev. Mary Ann Keys and Donna Anthony; two brothers, John Earl Lewis and Willie Jay Lewis; and two brothers-in-law, Marzine Keys and Andrew L. Alexander.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Greater Salter Chapel A.M.E. in Bogalusa, with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Ear Robinson, pastor, officiating.
