James Sherwood Adams, born June 10, 1942, joined his Heavenly Father on Monday, July 21, 2014, at the age of 72.

He is survived by his devoted niece, Kim Cefalu Epperson, and his great-niece and great-nephew, Emily Epperson and David Robert Epperson. He is also survived by his cousins and special caregiver Ellen Brown.

Sherwood was preceded in death by his parents, Percell Adams and Ada Jones Adams; two sisters, Gwen “Chi Chi” Armour and Charlotte Anne Cefalu; his brothers, William Otha Ingram and Glenis Ingram; and special caregiver, Jerelene Hebert.

Sherwood lived his life in Bogalusa and moved to Kenner in 2001. He enjoyed many happy years as an active resident of Westminster Towers. He was a helpful friend to all and enjoyed every bingo game. A special thanks to the staff at Metairie Health Care and Harmony Hospice.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Bogalusa Friday, July 25, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Caleb Martin will officiate the graveside services.
