Chamber taking orders for Centennial plates

The Bogalusa Chamber of Commerce is now accepting pre-orders for plates commemorating the city’s Centennial Jubilee.

Collectors will have the opportunity to complete their set of plates, as these will be made by the same company that produced the Golden Jubilee plates in 1964 and the Diamond Jubilee plates in 1989, according to Executive Director Marilyn Bateman.

The plate was designed by a Centennial committee and is based on old Bogalusa photographs.

At this time, the Chamber is only taking names and contact information of people wishing to purchase a plate. People on the list will be notified when the plates arrive, and they can pay the $25 cost then.

All proceeds will go to the Bogalusa Centennial.

Bateman said people should claim their plate quickly. Of the 144 ordered, at least 64 have already been spoken for, she said.
