Verdie L. “Jack” Beeson, age 75, was born on May 11, 1939, in Monticello, Miss., and passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at his residence in Bogalusa.

He is survived by his wife, Margie L. Beeson of Bogalusa; two daughters, Minnie B. (Bob) Starnes and Michelle B. Scott, both of Bogalusa; three stepdaughters, Billie F. Moody of Louisiana and Belinda L. Newcomb and Susan M. Magee, both of Bogalusa; three stepsons, Joseph V. Adcox of Texas and Roy O. Adcox and Floyd A. Miley, both of Bogalusa; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearlie Adams Beeson; one sister, Pearlie Maxine Fritz; one brother, Benjamin Beeson; and one stepson, Alton Miley Jr.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home chapel from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., with Bro. Lynn Martin and Bro. Caleb Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Reuben Adams Cemetery.
