Bogalusa resident Murton Seal Jr., 75, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, after a short illness.
He was a retired captain with the Bogalusa Fire Department and s security guard with Vinson Security. He was an active member of Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church, serving as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Seal; his son, David (Sherry) Seal; his daughters, Kathy (John) Sumrall, Lori (David) Dickson and Shari (Gene) Turni; seven grandchildren, Wyatt Dickson, Michael Miley, Sara (Randy) Stewart, Leigh Beth Seal, Tyler Seal, Brayden and Addyson Turni; two great-grandchildren, Payton and Kara Stewart; a brother Jim Seal; a sister, Sandra Williams; seven nephews; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Murton Seal Sr. and Jeanette Seal; and two sisters, Gloria Bennett and Marion Dunaway.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 19 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m., and will continue on Monday at Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church from 11 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Marcus Rosa and the Rev. Chad Jenkins conducting the service. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
