DYKES

Russell Dykes, 76, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Northshore Specialty Hospital in Covington. He was born on Nov. 29, 1937.

He is survived by his wife, Hilry Sue Dykes of Bogalusa; a son, Russell Kevin Dykes of Bogalusa; a daughter, Kimberly Bates of Bogalusa; four brothers, Lessie Dykes of Pine, Harvey Dykes of Bogalusa, Lester Dykes of Franklinton and Bert Dykes of Bogalusa; and one granddaughter, Amanda Dykes of Slidell.

His parents, Plessie and Velma Dykes; two brothers, George and Dent Dykes; and a sister, Azzie Temples, preceded him in death.

Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 16 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 5- 9 p.m., and will continue on Friday from 8 a.m. until time for funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Pierce Cemetery in Sun.
