WALKER
Ora Zadie Johnson Walker, 87, a resident of Franklinton, died at 7:54 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Born on April 7, 1926, she was a longtime member of First United Pentecostal Church of Franklinton who enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved growing her many flowers and liked to crochet.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty L. Holliday and Marye Dykes, both of Franklinton; two sons, Marshall Wayne Walker and Scottie Walker, both of Franklinton; nine grandchildren, Debbie Cutrer, Randy Dykes, Randell Dykes, David Riley, Tina Thurman, Jackie Walker, Sandra Sheridan, Jacob Walker and Brandon Walker; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Ray Walker; a daughter, Bonnie Sue Bennett; her father, Will Johnson; her mother and stepfather, Zadie Mulkey Clark and Floyd Clark; two brothers, Ed Johnson and D.C. Johnson; a half sister, Ollie Smith; and three great-grandchildren, John Goings, Crystal Riley and Tommy Ray Lavinghouse.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 6-10 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church of Franklinton and will continue on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 10 a.m., with the Rev. James Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery.
