Donna “Mama D” Turnage, 53, of Pine, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton.
She was born in Bogalusa on Feb. 27, 1960, and was the daughter of Devon Thomas and Ella Mae Creel Thomas. Her family said she absolutely loved riding the roads, talking on the phone and going to church. She loved her children, grandchildren and spending time with church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Lula Creel and Albert; one sister, Linda Gayle Strickland Phelps; one grandson, Damon Scott Thomas; and one sister-in-law, Connie Erwin.
Survivors include her husband, Julius Turnage of Pine; one son, Dewayne (Pamela) Turnage of Pine; three daughters, Janie Turnage, Beverly (Scottie) Thomas and Patricia Turnage, all of Pine; one brother, Henry Ford Erwin of Tylertown, Miss.; a sister, Loretta E. (Horace) Parker of Lafayette; a special niece, Rhoda Graves of Pine; her grandchildren, Destiny Turnage, Kaylee Turnage, Macie Turnage, Chelsey and Abigail Turnage, Kyle Fletcher, Trevor Fletcher, Lacie Fletcher, Dallas Graham, Hunter Graham, Ethan Galey, Emily Galey, Morgan Thomas, Bethany “Bug” Thomas, and one very special granddaughter, Dynasty Turnage; and one great-grandchild, Kynslee Norman.
Visitation began on Saturday and continues on Sunday evening at Brockdale Jesus Name Church in Tylertown. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Charles Creel and the Rev. Jerry Cox officiating.
Burial will follow in Faith Tabernacle Church Cemetery in Pine.
