Lennie Terrell, 91, a resident of Pine, born Dec. 2, 1921, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.
She retired from the Family Medical Center after 15 years of nursing for Dr. Gerald Foret. She was also a member of Pine First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Terrell and wife Jean of Pine and Tommy Terrell and wife Jeannie of Pine; six daughters, Billie Sue Spears of Thomas, Mary Lou Gill and husband Daniel of Mt. Hermon, Gloria Haley and husband Glynn of Franklinton, Charlotte Williams and husband Mike of Sandy Hook, Miss., Patsy Ritchie and husband Harold of Pine, and Brenda Martin and husband Eugene “Blue” of Pine; one brother, Holcomb Pittman of Pascagoula, Miss.; a daughter-in-law, Alice Terrell of Pine; and 25 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Terrell; son, Clyde Terrell, and infant son, William Wayne Terrell; two sisters, Audrey Mizell and Celeste Stringer; five brothers, Hezzie Pittman, Tom Pittman, Bill Pittman, A.C. Pittman and Holbrook Pittman; one grandson, Danny Spears; a great-granddaughter, Brooke Harrison; and her parents, Arzo Clyde and Ida Virginia Pittman.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 14 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. and will continue Sunday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. David Easterling, Elder Richard Magee and Elder Doyle Ball will officiate the services. Interment will follow at Pine First Baptist Church Cemetery in Pine.
Pallbearers are William “Bill” Sammons, Joe Michael Williams, Dewayne Terrell, Lindy Terrell, Billy Pittman, Ryan Posey. Honorary pallbearers are Ethan Graves, Mitch Waguespack, Cody Cooper, Chase Cooper, Brett Cooper, Luke Harrison, Andrew Harrison, Justin Terrell, Trenton Adams, Colby Adams, Austin Baughman, Caleb McDonald, Sammy Posey, Chance Woodward, Caden Woodward, Jacob McDonald, Dustin Barker, Joey Mitchell, Matthew Mizell, Ryan Terrell, Andrew Nickel, Will Nickel, Adam Thomas and Nick Magee.
