Shirley Walker and Gary Harry announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Tonitha “NeNe” Walker, to Andra “Thump” Tate, the son of John Tate Sr. and the late Ina Shanks Tate.

The bride-elect, a graduate of Bogalusa High School, is the granddaughter of the late Classie Mae Walker and Cleo Reid and the late Ola Mae Robinson and J.W. Williams.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Julius Shanks and Mattie Lee Shanks. He is a graduate of Franklinton High School.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, in a private wedding ceremony, followed by a private reception at the Event Center in Bogalusa.

After their honeymoon trip, the couple will reside in Bogalusa.
