Dr. Jerry and Lou Ann Thomas of the Thomas Community announce the engagement of their son, Dr. Jason Aroe Thomas, to Kathryn Leigh Wright of Peach Tree City, Ga.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Capt. Parker and Roxana Wright. She graduated from Georgia State University with a double major in political science and history.

A 1996 Franklinton High School graduate, the prospective groom holds degrees from Tulane University and LSU Medical School. He practices as an anesthesiologist in Maryland since completing his medical residency training at George Washington Hospital.

The couple will exchange vows in a ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 21, just south of Nashville in Culleoka, Tenn.

The newlyweds will reside in Arlington, Va.
