BOLTON

Percy Keith “Kedy” Bolton, the eldest son of the late Frank Bolton Sr. and Ella Mae Tate Bolton, was born Oct. 22, 1957, in Bogalusa. Our Savior called him home on Monday, March 18, 2013.

He grew up in St. Paul A.M.E. and became a Christian at an early age. He attended Bogalusa High School and graduated in 1977. After receiving his high school diploma he served in the United States Navy for several years and received an honorable discharge. He lived in Oakland, Calif. for many years and eventually returned to Louisiana to reside in New Orleans.

He leaves to cherish his memory a mother, Sis. Ella Mae Tate Bolton of Bogalusa; one sister, Gilda Bolton of Oakland; three brothers, Wayne, Frank Jr. and Barry Bolton, all of Bogalusa; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Hall of Pittsburg, Calif., and John Scott of Oakland; three aunts, Urnecie Abrams of Bogalusa, Pauline Hart of New Orleans and Myrtle Tate of Franklinton; one uncle, Nead Tate Sr. of New Orleans; six nephews, Jamar Smith of Monroe, Jonathan Scott of Atlanta, Ga., Lyle (Amber) and Lief Hall of Pittsburg, and Isaiah and Caston Bolton of Bogalusa; six nieces, Keisha Walton (Fred) of Monroe, April Scott, Africa and Ebony Bolton, all of Oakland, and Attallah Harper and Jamia Bolton of Bogalusa; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Bolton Sr.; three sisters, Frankie Faye Smith, Mary Jo Scott and Ella Rose Hall; and one niece, Little Frankie Faye Smith.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 29 at Cook Richmond Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m., followed by a family hour from 7-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 2 p.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, with the Rev. R.L. Palmer, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.
