Herbert Templet

Herbert Templet, 78, a resident of Franklinton born April 15, 1934, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 at 11:10 a.m. at his home.
He was a former painter, having retired from Avondale Shipyards, and a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War who enjoyed working on lawnmowers. He loved to boil crawfish and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Francine Templet of Franklinton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sheila Darity and Susie and West Goodrich, all of Franklinton; a son, Timothy Templet of Franklinton; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Bellanger and Shirley Sigur, both of Marerro, and June Breaux and Beverly Favre, both of Westwego; a brother, Robert Templet Sr. of Marrero; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Severin Templet and Edna Boudreaux Templet; a brother, Harry Templet; and son-in-law, Michael Darity Sr.
Visitation will be held at Saturday, Dec. 1 at First Baptist Church in Franklinton from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A memorial service will be held Saturday at the church at 11 a.m., with Rev. Paul Watts officiating.
