Mr. and Mrs. Eric (Linda) Beshears, of Baton Rouge, are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Brittany Ceclie Beshears, to Rodney Wayne Brown Jr., the son of Mrs. Lydia Cowart Moses and Mr. and Mrs. Rodney (Brenda) Brown Sr., all of Bogalusa.
The bride-elect, who attended Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Miss., is the granddaughter of the late Charles and Mattie Sue Gills, and the late George and Estelle Beshears.
She has chosen as her maid of honor Ali Cullins, and her matron of honor will be Kimberly “Nikki” Beshears. Her bridesmaids will be Charlie Gills, Chelsea Smith, Fredrika Johnson and Mykkie Gills. The flower girl, Kiley Beshears, is the daughter of the bride.
The prospective groom, a 2003 honor graduate of Bogalusa High School, graduated in 2010 from Southern University in Baton Rouge with a degree in history. He is the grandson of the late Gloria Cowart, Katherine Jones and the late Andrew Jones, and the late Orell and Laura Brown.
He has chosen as his best man Robert Smith Jr., and his groomsmen will be Eric Burelle, Felix Hill, Michael Daniel and Travis Hunter. The ushers will be Drake Moses, Nicholas Smith, Ryan Stewart and William Smith. Payton Anderson will be the ring bearer.
The couple will exchange vows at a 3 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 17 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, celebrated by Father Lowell D. Case, S.S.J. A reception will follow at the Center of Attraction.
After a wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.
