Barney Ray Smith Jr., 59, a resident of Zachary, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 as the result of a June 14 automobile accident.

He was employed at River Bend Nuclear Power Station for 36 years.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Smith; two daughters, Ashley Smith Donald and husband Matthew and Holly Smith Scroggs and husband Elliott; and a sister, Sherri Breland and husband, Rupert. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Mary Stewart and Anna Caroline Donald.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Yvonne Smith of Bogalusa.

The wake was held Monday, July 2 at Plains Presbyterian Church in Zachary from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation was held Tuesday, July 3 at the church at 9 a.m., followed by a service at 10 a.m.
