On Friday, May 4th at 8:24 a.m., a Bogalusa Police Department officer observed a vehicle with an expired motor vehicle inspection sticker on it traveling on Ave. D, according to the BPD’s Major Percy Knight.
“A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle and the officer made contact with the driver who was identified as Tammy Jones Garcia, 43, of Bogalusa,” Knight said.
“Jones’ drivers license was suspended, and she didn’t have proof of insurance on the vehicle. The BPD officer noticed that Garcia had needle track marks in both of her arms from suspected drug use.
“Jones gave the officer verbal consent to search the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, the officer located a glass cylinder pipe, commonly used for smoking crack cocaine and a white rock like substance, suspected to be crack cocaine on the floorboard near the drivers seat of the suspect’s vehicle.”
Garcia was placed under arrest on booked on the charges of expired motor vehicle inspection, driving under suspension, no insurance, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, Knight said.
