In order to help get the smallest of children their own safe and fun playground at Cassidy Park, Children’s International Medical Group has donated two tickets to the LSU/Auburn football game on Sept. 19 so the city can raffle them off to fund the project.

Tickets for a chance to watch LSU in Death Valley take Auburn, the preseason favorite to win the SEC this year will cost $10 each.

And CIGM is further sweetening the deal. It wants to encourage local clubs and other groups to help the city sell the raffle tickets, so it’s offering groups that sell the most passes for a night’s stay in La Quinta Inn and Suites in Biloxi, Miss. that they can give to one of their members. The group that sells the most will get two passes, and the next two top sellers will get one pass each.

The playground by the splash pad is designed for children 5 to 12 years of age.

Continuing improvements/enhancements to Cassidy Park are deemed vital to Bogalusa’s future, and the city is working with a considerable budget deficit. Museums of Cassidy Park thank CIGM for its commitment to the community. Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home is funding the printing of the raffle tickets. Other businesses that would like to also get involved are urged to contact Hanemann.

Individuals, clubs or businesses who want to donate to the Fund for Cassidy Park can send a check made to the City of Bogalusa with notice that it’s for the fund, to Hanemann at P.O. Box 1373 Bogalusa, LA 70429. Memorial giving is encouraged.
