Carolyn Toney Robertson of Hickory, N.C., died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Myrtle Beach, S.C., while on a birthday golfing vacation.

She was the daughter of Frank and Eddie Marie Toney of Bogalusa. She graduated from Bogalusa High School, where she was drum majorette, and Sisters of Charity School of Nursing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristy Marie Drake.

Survivors include one son, Eric Robertson, and his fiancée Carrie Steiger of Hickory; and grandchildren, Joseph and Addie; sisters, Peggy Thornhill of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Lenora Magee and husband Jimmy Dale of Sumerall, Miss.; sister-in-law, Lynne Parker of New Orleans; former husband, Dr. Kent Robertson; and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friend Leo White of Tasmania, Australia, and feline companion Paddy.

Carolyn was an avid golfer and was currently president of Lake Hickory Country Club Ladies Golf Association.

There will be a celebration of life and memorial gathering on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Lake Hickory Country Club at Catawba Springs Golf Course, 3820 Wandering Lane NE, Hickory, N.C., from 3 until 6 p.m.
