Good choices made for citizens of the year

The Daily News congratulates Rod Sabiston on his being selected the 2014 Franklinton Citizen of the Year.

Though there were some formidable nominations from which to choose, the selection committee did a fine job in selecting this year’s honoree.

Sabiston is known throughout Franklinton and beyond for his work with Franklinton Community Theatre. He has a passion for getting involved in all aspects in the community in which he lives. Those who nominated him for the honor certainly were well aware of that passion that drives him.

Sabiston’s gusto for life is indeed infectious to all who come in contact with him. As a retired furniture salesman, Sabiston has the unique ability to get things done with a mere suggestion. Self-deprecating at times, Sabiston makes strangers feel at ease when they first meet him.

Again, the Daily News congratulates Sabiston on his unique honor. We think it’s deserving.

And be sure to look for the date and time of this year’s celebration of the 2014 Franklinton Citizen of the Year and join us Thursday at Bogalusa Country Club from 5 to 7 p.m. as we honor the 2014 Bogalusa Citizen of the Year, Frances Mills.
