FRANKLINTON, La. — The Franklinton Branch Library recently hosted a Mardi Gras Storytime event that drew a crowd of eager children and families, immersing them in the enchanting world of “Dinosaur Mardi Gras.”

The event, held yesterday, featured a captivating guest reader, Mrs. Penny Mose, who brought the story to life with animated storytelling. Children were enthralled as they journeyed through the pages of “Dinosaur Mardi Gras,” allowing their imaginations to soar with each turn of the page.

Following the storytelling session, young attendees were invited to unleash their creativity by coloring handkerchiefs, adding their unique touch to Mardi Gras celebrations. The festivities continued as participants paraded through the library and into the yard, creating cherished memories that will endure for years to come.

The success of the event was bolstered by the support of the Friends of the Library, who provided delightful refreshments, and Sugar Shack, which generously donated a delectable King Cake that delighted taste buds and had everyone dancing with joy.

Amber Shepler, organizer of the Mardi Gras Storytime, expressed her gratitude for the community’s support in creating such memorable moments for the youth. “We had an amazing turnout for our Mardi Gras Storytime,” said Shepler. “It’s heartwarming to see our community come together to foster a love for reading and creativity in our children.”
