Krewe of MCCA Announces New Captain

BOGALUSA, La. — The Magic City Carnival Association (MCCA) Board convened on Wednesday, February 7th, marking a historic moment as Captain Don Spiers officially announced his successor. Cook Byrd was nominated by Spiers to take over the helm, a decision swiftly ratified by the Board.

Byrd’s appointment as the new Captain will take effect following Saturday’s parade, signaling a significant transition for the MCCA after Spiers’ 44 years of service, with 43 of those years serving as Captain.
