BOGALUSA, La. — The Track Booster Club at Bogalusa High School is gearing up for its first meeting on Thursday, February 8th, at 6:00 P.M., to be held inside the Bogalusa High School Football Fieldhouse, via the Gary C. Magee Track Complex. A second meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 15th, at the same location.
All former track athletes, parents, coaches, business leaders, teachers, bus drivers, friends, city workers, and well-wishers of BHS track are encouraged to attend and get involved in the club’s initiatives aimed at supporting the youth. The club aims to garner community support to enhance the track program at Bogalusa High School.
Attendees can expect to receive plans for the ’24 track season at BHS, including events in the City and Parish. The club is seeking advice, input, and support from the community to bolster its efforts. Several meets are scheduled at the BHS Track Stadium on March 7th, March 21st, and April 11th, and volunteers are needed to ensure their success.
Additionally, there is a proposal to establish a Washington Parish Track and Field Youth League, underscoring the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent in the area.
For those interested in contributing or joining the effort, Coach Eddie Walker, Head Track/CC at Bogalusa High School, can be reached at 985-516-6192 or email at ewalker@bogschools.org.
