***UPDATE*** The boil advisory was lifted Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 11:00 A.M.

WASHINGTON PARISH, La. – Residents in several subdivisions and surrounding areas of Washington Parish are advised to boil their water after a water main break occurred, leading to a water outage.

The Washington Parish Council issued a statement late yesterday, indicating that the areas affected include Timberlane Subdivision, Greenwood Subdivision, Twin Pines Subdivision, Highway 10, and side roads near Burt Rd. The outage stems from a water main break at a creek crossing.

Repairs are currently underway, but officials anticipate that it will take time to complete the necessary work. Until then, residents in these areas are urged to boil their water before consumption. The advisory will remain in place until samples confirm the water’s safety.
