BOGALUSA, La – The Avenue F Dog Park, initially approved by the city council in July 2023, faces a delay due to difficulties in obtaining an iron fence.

Mayor Tyrin Truong acknowledged the setback, attributing the delay to challenges in acquiring the necessary iron fence for the park.

Approved for construction in July 2023, the dog park’s completion hinges on the perimeter fence’s installation. Mayor Truong estimates that the park may open in March or April 2024, as the fencing is currently on backorder.

The Avenue F Dog Park is designed to offer a dedicated space for dogs and their owners to socialize and exercise. However, safety concerns necessitate the completion of the fence before the park can welcome visitors.

As efforts continue to address the delay, residents and dog enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the park’s eventual opening and its contribution to the community’s recreational amenities.
