Alayna Magee Named District Student of the Year

FRANKLINTON, La. – Alayna Magee, an exemplary 8th-grade student at Franklinton Junior High School (FJHS), has been named the District Student of the Year. This accolade recognizes Alayna’s outstanding dedication and accomplishments, setting the stage for her remarkable journey through the academic ranks.

Alayna, the daughter of April Magee and granddaughter of proud Franklinton residents Tim and Maureen Magee, showcased her exceptional qualities during the rigorous district-level competition. Her stellar performance in the interview process led to her being crowned the Washington Parish Junior High Student of the Year.

Elevating her achievements to a regional level, Alayna competed against peers from Region 6, comprising Washington, Livingston, Tangipahoa, Ascension, and East Baton Rouge Parish. On December 14, 2023, Alayna emerged victorious, securing the prestigious title of Region 6 Junior High Student of the Year. This historic win marks the first time in FJHS history that a student has achieved such recognition at the regional level.

Alayna’s excellence extends beyond the academic realm. Holding key positions such as Student Body Vice President, Beta Club President, and Captain of the Pep Squad, she exemplifies leadership and dedication. Additionally, Alayna is an active member of the Making A Difference Club. Her academic prowess is further underscored by her inclusion in the banner roll, where she ranks among the top 5 students in her class.

Alayna is preparing to compete for the Louisiana State Junior High Student of the Year, with the announcement scheduled for the spring. Franklinton Junior High School has extended its best wishes to Alayna, acknowledging her remarkable accomplishments and expressing confidence in her future endeavors.
