Sullivan Vocational Foundation Makes $100,000 Donation to NTCC

The Northshore College Enhancement Foundation is celebrating a momentous occasion as the Sullivan Vocational Foundation bestows a generous donation of $100,000. This philanthropic gesture is poised to create significant scholarship opportunities for students attending NTCC’s Sullivan Campus in Bogalusa. The focus of these newly endowed scholarships is to bolster students enrolled in NTCC’s Construction Trades and Registered Nursing Programs.

Dr. Jim Carlson, the Chancellor of Northshore Technical Community College, expressed profound gratitude for the Sullivan Vocational Foundation’s extraordinary generosity. He acknowledged the foundation’s unwavering commitment to advancing education in Washington Parish. Dr. Carlson emphasized the transformative impact of this substantial donation, highlighting how it will empower the Northshore College Enhancement Foundation to sustain its mission of providing exceptional scholarship opportunities and support to students pursuing educational endeavors at NTCC’s Sullivan Campus.

The roots of the Sullivan Vocational Foundation trace back to its establishment in 1999, courtesy of a generous gift from Washington Parish resident Lucy Robbins. The foundation’s overarching purpose is to champion and nurture vocational and technical education by channeling resources into scholarships and endowments. Throughout its existence, the foundation has been a stalwart supporter of NTCC’s Sullivan Campus, annually bestowing 5-12 scholarships to deserving students enrolled in various programs. In 2016, the Sullivan Vocational Foundation took a significant step forward by establishing an endowed scholarship specifically dedicated to Health Sciences.

This endeavor was carried out in collaboration with the Northshore College Enhancement Foundation, solidifying the foundation’s commitment to diverse fields of study within the vocational and technical spectrum.
