Washington Parish Welcomes New Era with Ryan Seal’s Inauguration

FRANKLINTON, La. – Washington Parish is preparing to welcome Ryan Seal as the new Parish President. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 8, at 3:00 P.M. at the Washington Parish Court House, 908 Washington Street, Franklinton, LA 70438. This event marks the start of Seal’s tenure as Parish President, a role pivotal to the governance and development of the parish.

The ceremony, open to the public, signifies a transition in the parish leadership.

Departing from the office is Richard N. Thomas Jr., who has served as Parish President for 16 years. President Thomas achieved substantial financial improvements for the Parish, including the increase of the fund balance to over one million dollars while maintaining low property taxes. His administration focused on important community projects, such as advocating for a new jail, improved educational facilities, and a proposed $45 million event center in Franklinton.
