G.R.I.T.S. Girls Red Hat Society Celebrates Christmas

WASHINGTON PARISH, La. The G.R.I.T.S. Girls Red Hat Society celebrated the festive season with a Christmas Party at Don’s Seafood Restaurant in Covington, Louisiana. The event, hosted by Lorell Morris, featured an ornament exchange and honored five December birthday ladies: Edleana Wattigney, Brenda Hayden, Sharyn Lobell, Sue Burch, and Ann Hingle. The birthday celebrants were greeted with cards and a warm rendition of “Happy Birthday.”

Frances Schilling offered a blessing for the meal and all present. A special guest, Dale Wattigney, contributed to the holiday spirit by reading the Christmas story during the ornament game. Attendees included Melissa Stringfield, Brenda Penny, Christi Cashio, Sue Burch, Jean Stafford, Edleana Wattigney, Lorell Morris, Brenda Hayden, Sharyn Lobell, Ann Hingle, Dot Kinlaw, Hazel Estave, Linda Corkern, Dot Cashio, and Loretta Booty.

Lorell Morris, queen mother of the G.R.I.T.S. Girls Red Hat Society, holds a wooden plaque and cash gifts given to her by the group at their Christmas event.

Lorell Morris surprised each member with a Christmas gift, and in turn, received a wooden plaque and a cash gift as a token of appreciation from the group. The gathering, marked by laughter and fun, enjoyed excellent service and delectable food, making it a memorable day for all.
