The Spartanette Service Club, in a heartfelt gesture of holiday spirit, has replaced their traditional Christmas family adoption with a generous donation of toys to the Washington Parish Department of Children and Family Services. In lieu of their customary gift exchange during their annual Christmas Jammie Jam, members of the club collectively decided to redirect funds towards the purchase of toys suitable for a range of ages, ensuring that local children in need will receive the gift of joy this Christmas season.

The club’s decision was inspired by the members’ own cherished memories of Christmas mornings filled with excitement and play. With a mission to spread that same joy, the Spartanettes are committed to making sure that every child in the community experiences the magic of Christmas through at least one toy.

At the heart of this initiative are the members of the Spartanette Service Club, namely: Zyhiah Washington, Jordynn McCant, Mighelle Owens, Quonya Bickham, Takkriya Brock, Christyanna Bickham, Jakira Magee (President), Hailey Mims, Julond Harry (Vice-President), Jena Harry, and Rakia Green (Secretary).

The act of kindness was embraced and facilitated by DCFS Office Workers and Spartanette Co-Sponsor, including Pam Williams, Leigh Anne Taylor, Jo Anna Frazier, Marie Jefferson, Allie Harris, and Haylee Blair.

This gesture not only exemplifies the club’s commitment to service but also reinforces the community’s collective responsibility towards its youngest members, especially during the festive season.
