Lady Raiders Basketball Season Debut Win

The Lady Raiders basketball team kicked off their season with a 68-21 victory against South Plaquemines.
From the start, the Lady Raiders showed their strength, leading 19-9 after the first quarter and holding a solid 38-13 lead by halftime. The third quarter saw another burst of energy, adding 19 more points to their score.
What really stood out was the Lady Raiders’ defense, allowing South Plaquemines only three points in the fourth quarter.
The team’s offense was well-balanced, with many players contributing. Freshman Kori Sumrall led with 17 points and 9 rebounds, followed by Dillon Sumrall with 12 points and 5 rebounds, and Ana Kate Thomas with 10 points and 3 rebounds.
Addyson Phelps showcased her skills with 8 points and 6 assists, while Samantha Thomas made an impact with 6 points and 4 blocks. Kirbee Magee and Ja’layia Lee added 6 and 4 points, respectively. Arminee Magee and Bailey Brooks also chipped in with 3 and 2 points.
For their next game, the Lady Raiders will travel to Springfield.
