Fire Damages Washington Parish Fire District No. 6 Station, Two Vehicles Lost

WASHINGTON PARISH, La. — A fire broke out at Washington Parish Fire District No. 6’s Station 2 around 9:36 a.m. Thursday, resulting in significant damage to the facility and the loss of two fire vehicles.

Responding units, which included Washington Parish Fire District #5 and the Bogalusa Fire Department, found heavy smoke upon arrival. The fire, discovered inside the station, primarily involved Service 2, a fire truck. Despite efforts to extinguish the blaze, Service 2 and Tanker 67 were deemed total losses. The station also sustained extensive heat and smoke damage.

Officials assured that the community will continue to receive adequate fire services despite the temporary loss of Station 2 and its apparatus. The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office has been engaged to investigate the fire’s cause, ensuring thorough examination and transparency in the incident.
