Fatal Collision in Washington Parish Leads to Arrest

WASHINGTON PARISH, La. — A fatal two-vehicle collision on Louisiana Highway 10 has resulted in the arrest of Darnelle Leblanc, 48, from Mount Herman, State Police report. The crash, which occurred near Louisiana 62 in Pine at approximately 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, claimed the life of Bryan Schneider, 64.

Investigations indicate that while driving a Chevrolet westbound on Louisiana 62, Leblanc crossed into the opposing lane, causing a direct collision with Schneider’s Toyota traveling east on Louisiana 10. Schneider succumbed to his injuries at the crash site.

Following the collision, Leblanc received medical attention and was subsequently arrested on Nov. 14. He faces charges including vehicular homicide, vehicular negligent injuring, and DWI.

State police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
