WASHINGTON PARISH – Richard Thomas, Jr., the Washington Parish President, has officially lifted the burn ban that was in place due to drought conditions. Effective Nov. 17th, this decision comes as the Parish President determined that the threat of danger from the drought has been sufficiently addressed.

The Parish Government communicated the termination of the burn ban on their Facebook page, expressing gratitude to the community for their cooperation during the challenging weather conditions this summer.

This move follows the guidelines outlined in the Disaster Act of 1993, under which the Parish President holds the authority to declare and conclude emergency conditions.

For further details and updates, residents can visit the official website of Washington Parish at www.wpgov.org or contact the Parish President’s office directly at (985) 839-7825.
