PINE, La. – The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office (WPSO) and the Rayburn Correctional Center (RCC) K-9 team conducted a manhunt in the wooded area near Dollar Rd and Jarelltown Rd, resulting in the capture of Douglas Carter. An urgent notice had been issued to the surrounding community to remain vigilant and secure their properties.

Douglas Carter was in Wallthall County, Miss., on multiple charges, including possession of stolen property, resisting an officer with force or violence, fleeing an officer on foot, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being a fugitive from another jurisdiction.

Sheriff Randy Seal expressed gratitude for the support from RCC and their K-9 units. “We want to extend our sincere thanks to RCC and their K-9 units,” Seal said. He commended the dedication of the deputies at WPSO for their role in the prompt arrest of Carter, ensuring the community’s safety.
